The cliff of the olive tree is located in Palmi, a town facing the sea on the Costa Viola side, so called because of the purple colour gotten by the sea in certain parts of the day. This cliff is one of the principal attractions of the town: it is not so far away from the coast and on its top a plant of olive tree (Olea europea) has grown. This place is also named “Luvareddhra” in the he local dialect.
The plant and its trunk are considered a “natural monument” because of the twist of its branches, its roots, its twisted trunk which has been smoothed by wind, saltiness and rain.
