Villa Magherini Graziani e il museo della villa di Plinio in Tuscia
This post is also available in: Italiano (Italian)
Villa Magherini Graziani is in Celalba – San Giustino (PG), overlooking the Tiber River. It was built in the early XVII century on a project by the architect Antonio Cantagallina, a member of the Magherini Graziani family. In the 1980s, it was acquired by the Municipality of San Giustino.
Today, the villa is home to exhibitions and events, together with the Museum of Villa di Plinio in Tuscia, which exhibits the artefacts found in the noble abode of Pliny the Younger, and other relics of the ancient Roman economy, trade and agriculture.
THE GARDEN
It still retains its original XVII century layout, with terraced shelves, a central fountain, the long cypress-lined avenue at the entrance, and the holm oak wood.
