Davide Contis’ passion for plants is principally focused on succulents, above all on the Opuntia, Agave and Yucca species, because of this he started to make experiments in his garden to test the plants’ resistance to cold and humidity. Opuntia collection is composed of 400 species, varieties and cultivar, which are able to resist till -15°C in some cases.

Nowadays, he reproduces mainly from seeds numerous cacti and succulent plants and after the construction of a large greenhouse in 2012, he decided to dedicate himself professionally speaking both to the production and selling of the plants and so he funded CACTIS.

Now it is possible to admire a great, rocky garden next to the greenhouse with cold-resistant succulent plants. This allows clients to see personally the many beautiful cacti species to use to realise gardens in cold and wet environments.
