Parco Fluviale del Taro protect more than 20 kilometres of riverbed between Fornovo di Taro and Ponte Taro, not so far away from Parma; managed by Ente di gestione per i Parchi e la Biodiversità- Emilia Romagna since 2012, it was created in order to protect the ancient fluvial landscape, which has disappeared in other areas. It is formed by uncontaminated places, farming areas and athropized ones, it is an important wildlife corridor, since it is on the migration route of many birds, and a nesting site for others. It offers easy excursions, cycling and mount bike paths, and birdwatching. In the vicinities there are also Museo Ettore Gatelli and Parco Boschi di Carrega.
