Giardango is a garden center in Carimate (CO), founded in 2014. It has hot and cold greenhouses, an external nursery, indoor areas dedicated to gardening, pets, and furnishings.
One of its greatest attractions is the large aviary with many species of birds, not to mention the outdoor farm and the educational gardens.
The hot greenhouse is heated in winter using hot water coming from a nearby renewable energy power plant. Irrigation is guaranteed by a big artificial lake, which collects all rain from the roof of the greenhouse; internal and external lighting uses LED technology, about to be powered by a solar panel arrays with a 16 kW output.
The carefully selected and wide range of products offered includes planted and potted plants, flowers, gardening tools, and assorted items, indoor and outdoor furniture, Christmas decorations, as well as small pets and what’s needed to take care of them.
Giardango is also the Italian specialist in hydroculture plants, thanks to the solid experience of one of its co-founders – namely, a cultivation technique that does not involve the use of soil, but only of water and expanded clay aggregates.
Giardango is also the Italian distributor of extremely innovative tools for gardening and cultivation, including “Naturalys” by Flowerbox.
Throughout the year, several courses on different topics (gardening, recreation, and leisure, for young and old attendees) are organized on the premises.
Last but not least, Giardango offers consultancy services on any gardening and horticultural activity (turg sowing and caring, pruning, fertilization, health treatments, winter protection, etc. …). The resident experts may also offer advice about hydroculture, breeding, nutrition, and care of small pets (dogs, cats, rodents, birds, fish, and turtles, etc.), garden furniture, barbecues, natural and home/office flower decoration.
