This is one of the largest green areas in Milan (about 150 acres), created in the north-western part of the city, near the San Siro football Stadium. In 2012, the park was dedicated to the former mayor Aldo Aniasi.
There green spaces and dedicated areas for many activities, several playgrounds for the children as well as tennis, football, skating, bowling, basketball, volleyball, rugby facilities. The park avenues are straight and long, running across the whole area and reserved to pedestrians and bikers. Picnic spaces have been designed as well, along with other public areas for different activities.
There are over 4.000 trees, like Douglas firs, Norway spruces, ailanthus maple, birches, hawthorns, white hornbeams, cherry trees, ashes, elms, alders, pines, poplars, plantains, prunus, red oaks, black locusts, lindens, and tulip trees.
There are dining areas with a bar and a restaurant, including a hostel managed by a private society which employs differently-abled people.
Inside the Park, there is also a War Cemetery dedicated to the Anglo-Americans fallen in this area, during the Second World War.
