The Pagani Museum of modern art is in Castellanza, in the province of Varese, in a wooded area bordering the city of Legnano. Created in 1957 by the painter Enzo Pagani (inspired by the ancient Greeks to exhibit works of art outdoors), it covers a park of about 10 acres.
It’s a true art oasis, where hundreds of works are exhibited, like sculptures and mosaics, made with the most different materials: marble, stone, bronze, iron, steel, wood, glass, etc.
It is a unique collection which includes several Italian and international artists, and definitely one of its kind also when it comes to the unusually big space used for the exhibition.
The recurring hexagonal layout of the museum proves the perfect way to offer the ideal freedom of movement and display of several works of arts, mainly labelled as avant-garde creations.
there are many prestigious artists on display, belonging to various nations and different artistic currents such as Futurism, Dadaism and Surrealism.
Today, the Museum stands as a true legacy of the Pagani Family through the commitment and dedication of the Pagani Museum Foundation – the preservation of the permanent collection, as well as the promotion of various cultural and artistic events is, in fact, a never-ending endeavour.
