Astego Garden – Orchid Collection

In the Astego there are several habitats recreated after the mountain areas, at an altitude of 328 ft, and the hilly areas, at 328-1.969 ft. In all the mountain areas, such as pastures, undergrowth, and beeches, visitors can find a large number of orchids. The local collection includes 35 spontaneous species from Veneto, and the number is constantly rising. Among the most colorful and fascinating flowers, there are Anacamptis piramidali, Cephalanthera rubare, Cypripedium calceolus, Dactylorhiza majalis, Epipactis helleborine, Gymnadenia odoratissima, Nigritella rubra, Nigritella austriaca, Nigritella rhellicani, Ophrys spiffis “military”, Ophrys spiffera, Orchis papilionacea, and Orchis ustulata.
