Il “Giardino dei Ciliegi” (“Cherry Garden”) stands on a hill in Pedaso, in the hinterland of Fermo, inside the property of “Conte dei Ciliegi” – a magnificent 20-acre park, full of fruit and olive trees, facing the Gran Sasso, the Maiella, and the Gargano Massifs North and South, and a plateau overlooking the sea East and West.
The park is served by over 1,2 miles of paths, with twelve gymnastic facilities part of the “health trail”, illuminated at night. One part of the park is planted with over 2.500 varieties of flowering cherry trees. Inside an olive grove, there is a copy of the famous “labyrinth of the Templars” of the cathedral of Chartres, with a diameter of 65 ft and a path more than half a mile long.
Along the entire perimeter, there is the “Path of fruits”, with fruit trees and berries available for tasting.
In April, the Municipality of Pedaso, the “Contea dei Ciliegi” and the “Fortezza delle Scienze” Association organize “Pedaso Hanami”: a special event about martial arts, Japanese massage, a photo competition, creative games and workshops for children, typical Japanese food tastings, painting exhibitions, and much more.
