La Margherita Golf Club

La Margherita Golf Club was born as a “country club” thanks to a group of friends drawn by the enthusiasm and passion of Luciano Roccia and Piero Cora, authentic legends of regional and national Golf.
Soon, the golf club grew and consolidated the image of a great sports facility, which has hosted and national and international competitions for years now, ranking among the best 20 Italian courses.
The latter features 18 holes, par 72, with winds more than 3.7 miles per hour and has a rather “rough” texture: the fairways, wide and well-kept, are, in fact, surrounded by water obstacles, while the greens, fast and undulating, are well defended by bunkers.
The first nine holes bear the signature of Marco Croze (he has also designed Albarella and Riva dei Tessali courses among many others) assisted by architect Giorgio Ferraris from Turin. Ferraris also designed the modern and functional club-house.
Further development of this beautiful golf facility is most certainly possible: the city of Turin is very close (well-served by Turin-Savona motorway – Carmagnola exit), the competition course is technical and quite stimulating (not to mention, always in perfect conditions), while constant refurbishing renovations are perfectly designed to suit the needs of Members and Guests.
The field of sunflowers within the estate is absolutely astonishing, while all the fairways are natural and made respecting the local herbaceous crops. Very little artificial help is needed only on the greens and always selected among eco-friendly products.
The 18 holes par 71, very challenging and full of water obstacles, are plunged into the woods, on a gently hilly and lively course, to the delight of every golfer.
Many native trees have been planted, such as poplars, hornbeams, walnuts, vines, and maples, painstakingly well integrated within the landscape.

This golf club is also about half an hour’s drive from the Savoy Residences (Castello di Racconigi, Rivoli, Venaria, and the Royal Palace of Turin) recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Sites; this sports facility can be also reached from the city of Alba in about 30 minutes, by car.
