Castel di Salve Winery

This winery was founded in 1922 by Francesco Marra and Francesco Winspeare, who planted some 100 acres of vineyards.
The winery was actually set up in Depressa, a similar, ancient facility which had been shut down and neglected for several years. The new company thus appeared on the market at the end of the 19th century, featuring wine cellars made with the local stones from Lecce.
The owners selected old vineyards with great potential, including all some native grapes of Salento, such as Negroamaro, Primitivo, and Malvasia Nera from Lecce.
Castel di Salve now operates in three different locations, in the Salento peninsula: “Casina Abate Bosci” (in the area of Monteroni, province of Lecce), “Masseria Pisari” (in Ugento), and “Masseria Bosco Belvedere” (in Supersano).
