Montalbano Park can be found at the foot of Oria castle and represents the last green part of the forest that used to surround the whole area.
In 700, it became a real park thanks to the Celestine Fathers who enriched it with exotic vegetation and trees. It then passed into the hands of the Salerno – Mele family who further enriched it with scenic walks.
Later on, it eventually became a property of the episcopal Roman Curia and since 1982 it has been owned by the local Municipality.
