Quercus dalechampii (Fagacee)

The Daléchamps oak in Bitritto has always been the great “Patriarch” of Conca di Bari and grows in the bed of the “Lama” Abbessa (a furrows dug in the limestone rocks over time by the running water of rivers and streams).

Its lush and rounded dome rises well above the olive trees which surround it, dominating the entire area.
