Villa d’Orri

Villa d’Orri is a noble residence in the municipality of Sarroch, near Cagliari. The current layout of the villa dates back to the original vision of Stefano Manca, the Marquis of Villahermosa and S. Croce; the villa was, in fact, erected between 1799 and 1814, during the forced exile of the Savoy court in Sardinia. Villa d’Orri is thus the only example of a “royal villa” in this region.
Standing between the hills and the sea, it is surrounded by a park that hosts several tall tree species and a rich Italian garden, accessed via a pincer staircase decorated with marble busts in neoclassical style, and decorated with impressive monumental trees such as Ficus magnoliodes and centuries-old palms.
Villa d’Orri still retains much of its original furnishings and is widely celebrated for its important historical and architectural heritage – a true monumental complex, with precious collections inside, and a wondrous surrounding park.
