Provincial Nature Reserve of Loppio Lake

Lake Loppio is a Provincial Nature Reserve, a biotope that hosts an interesting environment with the remains of ancient vegetation – along the lakeshore – and vast phenomena of pioneer species colonization (lacustrine clay on the bottom of the basin). This area hosts the reproduction of many species of amphibians and reptiles, as well as the nesting and wintering of many protected bird species.
At the bottom of the ancient lake, there’s mostly weed typical of the wetlands, marsh grasses, white willows (Salix alba), sedge (Caricetum elatae), Alnetea glutinosae, Phragmition spp., and wild orchids.
