This facility has been acclaimed by the “National Geographic” (as well as by many other renowned magazines) the “most beautiful vineyard in the whole wide world”. This peculiar garden-vineyard can be found in Amastuola, on the hills of Crispiano, in the province of Taranto; it’s completely surrounded by a wonderful landscape made of maritime pines, olive trees and Mediterranean scrub, also featuring several traces of its ancient history.

The vineyard-garden dates back to 1700 and was designed by the famous Spanish landscape architect Fernando Caruncho; it covers more than 245 acres, arranged on bending parallel tracks which run for about 1.9 miles and are decorated with espalier vines conjuring the “waves of time”.

The vineyard and the winemaking process are 100% organically managed. The Primitivo grapes are grown right here, the winner of 17 national and international awards.

This facility is a unique model of harmony and profitable interaction between agricultural productions and painstaking care for the surrounding landscape; it was officially acknowledged as a “Good Practice for the recovery of no longer productive agricultural landscapes” by the Umbria Region (2009) and as a “Good Practice of protection and enhancement of agricultural landscape also for tourism purposes” by Puglia Region (2010).

Amastuola Garden Vineyard also includes a very charming resort and a restaurant.
