Baia di Pelara

Different paths find their starting point in the fraction of Panza, Forio di Ischia. One of them leads to the bay of Pelara: a small bay located between the “Guardiola” and the “Monte di Panza”, which is not famous but it is characterised by natural architectures, which make this area an important geological site for the territory. The path, which initially has wooden steps, develops in a luxuriant vegetation of holm oaks (Quercus ilex), oaks (Quercus spp.), strawberry trees (Arbutus unedo), broom trees, ferns and heather. The landscape changes when the first volcanic rocks appear from the water of the bay of Pelara; this is the last part of the path.
