Bortolotti Garden, Garden of the Ciucioi

Bortolotti Garden, also known as the “Ciucioi Garden”, was built above the town of Lavis (TN), leaning against the rocky hill of Dos Paion. It is a XIX century hanging garden, made of several terraces and loggias, with battlements and trompe l’oeil paintings created by Tommaso Bortolotti. It used to be extremely rich in exotic and Mediterranean species, including citrus fruits, magnolias and palms.
Unfortunately, it was dramatically neglected during the XX century but it is now owned by the Municipality, which is taking care of its full restoration; all being well, the garden will reopen to the public very soon.
