This Oasis is located in the Municipality of Capannori, in the Province of Lucca, within a Site of Community Importance (SIC IT5120101).

This area of some 50 acres is one of the last small remaining strips of the plain woods that once surrounded Lake Bientina. The management is entrusted to the WWF in agreement with the Municipality of Capannori.

Right there, where the waters of Mount Pisano reach the plain, the landscape can be divided into different areas: woods, wet meadows, reeds and open fields.
The flora is particularly rich in Alnus glutinosa (black alders), Populus spp. (poplars), Salix spp. (willows) and the rare Arisarum proboscideum (mouse plants). The fauna includes badgers, weasels, wild boars, porcupines, dormice and foxes.
