Armina wood is located in the vicinities of the historical centre of Bagno Romagna Terme, on the Romagnolo Appennines. It is an equipped park created to honour local traditions, according to which it is inhabited by gnomes, fantasy characters from Northern Europe.
The one-kilometre long gnomes’ path starts in the public gardens of Via Lungosavio, which leads into the wood and fantasy land after crossing the bridge over Savio river. There is a thick vegetation, the Armina stream and it is possible to find stone sculptures, signs with drawings and quotations from fairy tales, templates of animals and wooden boxes, where it is possible to leave messages to the so called “Piccolo Popolo”. After passing by a spring, the path leads to a short climb and a clearing, then it descends towards the river.
The park hosts also numerous festivals, like the shows of the cultural association “La Compagnia di Gnomo Mentino” and nocturnal torchlight processions, which light up the path three times a year.

The village hosts on the 5th of January a traditional celebration with traditional songs and satirical folk songs; masks parade along the roads and they are accompanied by small orchestras, which exhibit themselves in the streets and public places, in order to collect charity funds in the majority of cases.
