This post is also available in: Italiano (Italian)

This oasis covers an area of 87 acres, featuring woods full of centuries-old specimens. Among the trees there are the downy oak (Quercus pubescens), hazel (Corylus avellana), hornbeam (Carpinu betulus), maples (Acer spp. ), and lindens (Tilia spp.).

The wood is home to numerous species of passerines, such as tits, common firecrests, mistle thrushes, and the peculiar black redstart; birds of prey include lanner falcons and peregrine falcons but above all golden eagles. There are also several eagle owls.
Mammals are abundant, like wolves, roe deers, deers, badgers, wild boars, weasels, and hares.

Inside the oasis, it is possible to visit the WWF bird of prey recovery centre, with aviaries hosting golden eagles and hawks.
