This post is also available in: Italiano (Italian)
At the Lorenzo Rota Botanical Garden of Bergamo, the spring awakening is always accoladed by the flowering of spontaneous herbaceous species of this territory.
There are many varieties, like liverwort, Hepatica nobilis (once thought capable of treating any liver disease), violets (Viola alba in particular), dogtooth violets, Erythronium dens-canis, hellebores (Helleborus niger and Helleborus – toxic and poisonous !), and the wood anemone (Anemone nemorosa, just as toxic and stinging).
