Castle of Agazzano is a fortification in Val Luretta, Piacenza area, which is located on a spot of gentle drop, where the last hilly offshoots leave space to plain lands. The actual landscape dates back to 1475 when riedification processes took place on 13th centuries structures thanks to the Scotti family, who repossessed the building after various events spread in a pair of centuries. It presents itself like a compact structure formed by two buildings, whose story, use and aspect are completely different: The Renaissance fortress and the 18th century palace.
The castle is surrounded by a wide French style garden terrace, which is built on two levels decorated with mythological statues, fountains and rare plants introduced at the beginning of the 19th century.
It belongs to “Associazione dei Castelli del Ducato di Parma e Piacenza” circuit and the castle, its garden and its cellar are opened to visitors, but it is necessary to book previously.
