Boschi delle Cerbaie (Cerbaie Woods) are located among the hamlets of Pinete, Torre, and Vedute, in the municipality of Fucecchio (FI), a few steps from the famous Padule Nature Reserve. They can be considered as an enchanted forest, where time seems to have stopped.
Thanks to the humid and cool climate, common trees such as alders, oaks and silver firs, grow abundant along with several rare plants such as the Drosera Rotundifolia, a carnivorous species from the ice age, and the Osmunda Regalis, typical of tropical climates, dating back to about 10 million years ago.

Despite the nearby urban settlement, in the forest, there are still many squirrels, badgers, porcupines, magpies, and woodpeckers.

Today, part of this forest can be visited thanks to several hiking trails winding through the dense scrub and the thick undergrowth. Some clearings are fitted with tables and benches, ideal for a picnic or a quick rest.
