The Colombano Romean ecomuseum is in the “Gran Bosco di Salbertrand regional nature park”, in the municipal area of Salbertrand – one of the 12 municipalities of “Alta Val di Susa” Mountain Community. The area shows the typical features of the mountain areas: high altitudes, quite large surfaces difficult to use, low population density, and marked rurality.
The starting point is represented by the mill of Salbertrand, internally and externally renovated. In addition to it, other themed places can be visited in this territory, such as the oven, the ice hut, the parish church of Salbertrand, the charcoal cellar, the limestone quarry, the forest and the hemp cultivation facility.
This ecomuseum favours the silent language of the structures and the showcased items. For this reason, visits are supported by professional storytellers that can introduce and describe the overall themes based on the interweaving of information, oral and written, collected in the area.
