Conversano and Gravina Monsignore Lakes Regional Reserve

This reserve looks like a mix of wooded areas, pastures, arable land, and olive groves. The territory stands out for its many karstic phenomena and for the dry stone rural landscape with low walls, “casedde” and “specchie”.
The Monsignore Ravine is a deep natural furrow with a flat bottom and steep walls (up to 82-ft high), eroded into the cretaceous limestone of the Murgia Escarpment: the signs of hypogeal karstic phenomena are quite prominent in this very ravine.
Grotta di Sant’Antonio is a 410-miles long network of three tunnels that runs into the rocks, featuring some amazing concretions.
