A hotel was built for the 1990 Soccer World Cup (but never finished and then demolished in 2012), exactly where now there’s a public green space hosting a 1.23-acre garden very popular among the residents of Ponte Lambro district.
It was opened in 2013 and includes a playground, a space for dogs, bicycle lanes, and some recently planted trees. New projects for recovering other neighboring abandoned areas have already been devised. Among the tree species in this park, visitors can find poplars, cherry trees, oaks, maples, and lindens.
