Francesca Caltabiano graduated in Fashion Marketing at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and then also graduated in gemology at the Gemological Institute of America.
After five years in the USA, she returned to Florence and worked in many classic jewellery companies as a designer particularly focused on the foreign markets.
She was acknowledged as the “designer of memory” because she is passionate about what the past has still got to offer.
In addition to her collections often dedicated to the fairytale world, Francesca creates unique jewels dedicated to women.
She has recently worked for BMW Italy, creating personalized lucky charms, and for the “Archivio 1902 – Pampaloni” project, embedding the very history of the renowned company with exclusive jewels. Francesca also teaches Fashion in Film at an international university, and regularly gives lectures in Asia on fashion and cinema.
Today, Francesca is a jewel designer, creating both unique pieces, collections inspired by fairy tales, and small animals of the forest and the garden like snails (“Caracolla collection”), frogs (“Ranascimento collection”), and toads (“Postrosp collection”) – each single piece is full of poetry, fun and peculiar evocativeness.
