Giardino dell’Abbazia di Santa Maria Arabona
This post is also available in: Italiano (Italian)
The magnificent abbey Santa Maria Arabian dates back to 200 and was bought at the end of the 18th century by the Zambra family, who made it their country residence. The vegetable garden of the convent was transformed into an Italian style garden, with formal implant, geometrical flowerbeds, gravel paths and a big fountain-fish pool at the centre and grove. The garden is now State Property and inside it grow many palms, Cycas and numerous Styphnolobium japonicum ‘Pendulum’, which were previously called Sophora japonica ‘Pendula.
