Gorges of Garavot

The Gorges of Garavot are located in Valchiusella, about 44 miles from Turin, in the luxuriant countryside. They can be reached on foot via a path from the provincial road to Traversella; these magnificent gorges are the ideal place to get away from the heat of Turin’s hot season, but also for taking relaxing strolls in the cooler months.

Over time, the Chiusella River, a tributary of Dora Baltea which originates from Mount Marzo and gives its name to this valley, has carved out the spectacular gorges. They consist of two pools of water communicating through a narrow gorge and surrounded by grey-blue rock walls smoothed by the river waters.

Once reached Guje di Garavot, visitors can relax on the banks of the river, and take a dive from the flanking rocks. Experienced divers – with the right gear – may even reach a depth of 30 ft to admire what is hidden on the bottom.
