La Scrasceta Farm

Masseria La Scrasceta (“Masseria” means “a big farm”), in Nardò (LC), is a remarkable example of the late Baroque architecture, as well as a noble Apulian residence, linked to the agricultural activity of Salento in 1700-1800. Built in the mid-XVIII century, it has lost its original manor features, gradually becoming a country villa, in a very fertile and well-cultivated area.
The villa, now a historic monument (protected by the Superintendency of Puglia), is abandoned and for sale.
It still retains a splendid facade, ten rooms with precious star and barrel vaults, a delightful frescoed chapel, and a wonderful monumental well; not to mention a large green area that houses two palm groves and some vineyards, as well as a citrus grove accessed through a baroque portal. The main driveway was once decorated with statues and busts.
