Cervati or Cervato mount is in the province of Salerno and it reaches an altitude of 1899 m above the sea level, because of this it is considered the highest mountain of Campania. It is possible to notice high sheer walls, whose morphology designs a characteristic karstic environment with channels, towers and pinnacles. The vegetation of the area is composed mainly of Fagus spp., Acer spp., Quercus ilex, Alnus glutinosa, Taxus spp., Ilex aquifolium. It is curious the presence of a beech tree wood at 1770 m of altitude, which few people have explored. The orchid’s valley develops from the area of Cervati mountain, where it is possible to observe various wild species of orchids. There are 184 flowers in this territory: 68 species, 57 subspecies, 35 varieties, 24 hybrids. There is a 47 km path which allows to observe these marvellous plants.
