Palazzo Fantini

Palazzo Fantini is located in Tredozio, between Forlì and Cesena. Its present aspect dates back to the 18th century, when Lorenzo Maria Fantini united some 17th century buildings.
An iron-glass structure in Liberty style unifies the two wings of the residence: a suggestive hanging veranda, which was used as winter garden during the 20th century for the ones inhabiting the house.
The palace is surrounded by a garden on different levels and divided in various sectors: first of all the Italian style garden, elevated above the house  and accessible only through a flight of stairs, which was realised in the 19th century, with box hedges whose geometrical shapes are precise, secret paths, the water lilies’ fountain, the flowerbeds of ancient roses and borders of 19th century flowers like Dali and begonias.
Further up, there is the English style park, with centuries old trees such as Lebanon cedar trees  (Cedrus libani), horse chestnuts (Hypocastanus aesculus), holm oaks (Quercus ilex), oaks and lindens, and meadows with spontaneous flowers. The park ends with a rocky garden.
In the vicinities of the farm buildings, facing the Italian style garden, there is a construction which was once used as greenhouse, which merges with an adjacent building, used as  lemon house, in front of which has been recently realised a wide flowerbed dedicate to aromatic herbs, bordered by hedges of bocci.
