The castle of Gropparello is a fortress of medieval origins located on a s peak of rocks over a ravine, at whose base flows the Vezzeno stream, in the province of Piacenza.

Area of battles between Guelphs and Ghibellines, after many accidents in 1869 it was bought by the count Ludovico Marazzani-Visconti who entrusted the refurbishment to the architect Camillo Guidotti, who added neo-gothic structures and windows. Then, it was passed down to the Gibelli family, who opened it to the public, transforming it into a business opportunity with the creation of guided tours and the creation of themed environments for children: Parco delle Fiabe, the first “emotional Italian park”.
It is surrounded by a forest composed of millennial rocks and centuries old trees, which offers to adults and children an oasis dedicated to stupor, to the discovery of magical wanders, to fables.
Once children enter in the magic of the park, they put on a sword and hood and are guided to revive medieval incursions, fighting against the beings hidden in the dark ravines of the vegetation: ogres and witches, while playing at hiding in the wood. A medieval banquet is proposed to families each Saturday evening.
