Parco d’Europa covers an area of 11 acres, with several entrances and a cycle/pedestrian bridge that connects it to the green fabric of the city.
The function of the park, in addition to walking, relaxing and researching its lush vegetation, is to host events and flower competitions.
Inside the park, there is a steel and glass structure whose shape resembles the corolla of a flower, created to house the collection of succulent plants donated by Professor Angelo Levis.
The structure is called the Crystal Garden and hosts aloe plants (Aloe spp. ), agaves (Agave spp. ), euphorbia (Euphorbia spp. ), varieties of Pachypodium, Chorisia Speciosa, Bursera spp. , Moringa spp. , Bombax spp. , and numerous Cactaceae.
There are also some specimens are of considerable sizes, such as columnar euphorbias more than 19 ft high, Pachypodium from Madagascar, crested and variegated varieties, as well as hybrids between aloe species and inter-genus hybrids.
