Park of the Monluè farmhouse

It is a green area created around the Monluè farmhouse, between the Lambro River, the eastern ring road, and Linate airport, near the Forlanini Park. The farmhouse dates back to 1267, the period of its foundation by the Umiliati di Santa Maria di Brera, owned by Pio Albergo Trivulzio, and now managed by the Municipality and the Archdiocese of Milan. The complex is a typical large farm, the “Grangia del Monluè”, consisting of fields, service areas, a large courtyard around the stables, service buildings and humble abodes for the peasants; there’s also a mill and the monastic building with the beautiful church dedicated to Saint Lorenzo with an impressive bell tower.

The park of 25 acres features meadows surrounding the ancient village, groves, and long rows of cypress poplars, accessible by bicycle or on foot. In these green areas, there are many sycamore maples, Norway maples, southern catalpas, nettle trees, horse chestnuts, elms, cypresses, black poplars, London plane trees, white willows, rowans, and small-leaved limes. Inside the park, there are two soccer fields.
