Podere Le Ripi, owned by Francesco Illy, consists of some 133 hectares of woods, vineyards and olive groves that until 1998 were inhabited by a shepherd and his flock: an uncontaminated land rich in biodiversity, offering breathtaking views and clean air.
The company, which can be reached along a dirt road, is organically run and, since 2010, has also been using biodynamic cultivation techniques. The wine cellar is absolutely splendid, with its excellent architecture overlooking Val d’Orcia and Mount Amiata. High-quality wines are thus available, including one of the best Brunello on the market.
All the trees inside this farm are protected and safeguarded as an added value for the territory; they’re all entrusted to the painstaking care of Stefano Lorenzi, an SIA-certified professional (Italian Society of Arboriculture).
