Riserva Naturale Duna costiera ravennate e foce del torrente Bevano covers a coastal, retro-dunal area ant the mouth of Bevano stream, with a surface of 64 hectares, in the municipality of Ravenna. This natural reserve is part of Parco Naturale Regionale del Delta del Po.
Starting from Parco del Delta del Po, crossing the pine wood, there is the mouth of Bevano stream, which shows the original aspect of the coastal area before human interventions.
Pedestrian and cycle paths allows to observe from a short distance the wide variety of vegetal bio types of the Reserve (from the coast to the dunes, wet areas with reeds and canes till the pinewoods), such as alofite and psammophilous plants like salicornia, which is able to live in salty swamps.
In addition, the area is an important place for migratory birds, like herons, wading birds and little egrets.
