A majestic plantain tree over 200 years old, with an inclined stem which bears the signs of time, dominates this space and offers its shade to children playing in the dedicated area under its branches. To reach this garden, dedicated to the literary critic Roberto Bazlen from Trieste, visitors can take the two side paths to the Bertarelli Professional Institute on Corso di Porta Romana 112-116. The garden is surrounded by a modern fence and most of the area is paved and fitted with indoor and outdoor playgrounds.
Every Thursday, there is a market for organic products.
Among the 37 tree species, there are mainly black locusts (Robinia pseudoacacia ‘Bessoniana’), maples (Acer negundo and A. saccharinum), Judas trees (Cercis siliquastrum), California incense-cedars (Calocedrus decurrens), cherry plums (Prunus cerasifera ‘Pissardii’), elms (Ulmus spp.), plantains (Platanus x acerifolia), Eastern white pines (Pinus strobus), and poplars (Populus alba, Populus nigra, and Populus x canadensis). Among some centuries-old trees, there is a huge plantain (Platanus x acerifolia) that protects the children’s play area.
