Scubla Farm

Roberto Scubla’s farm was established in 1991, in Ipplis di Premariacco, in the province of Udine. The company headquarters are surrounded by the beautiful Colli Orientali del Friuli, hundreds of acres wide vineyards, ancient hamlets and small woods on the hills.

The most beautiful spot is probably Bosco Romagno, a protected area with beautiful flora and fauna, that can be enjoyed following the suggested paths.

The company’s vineyard is some 30 acre-wide, including some recent additions.
The vines grow on the slopes of a gentle sunny hill in the southern area of the Colli Orientali del Friuli, an ideal place for the production of wines with particular aromas and flavours. The soil is absolutely ideal for the cultivation of fine vines.

The hill is made up of Eocene marl, known as “ponca” in the local dialect. At first, this type of soil may prove too hard, but over time it gets rich in minerals thanks to the constant erosion by atmospheric agents.
Furthermore, the rocky component of the hills contains the sinking of the aquifers: drought is, therefore, never a problem, even on hot summer days.

The climate benefits from pleasantly cool and breezy nights: mineral salts, fragrances and trace elements from the soil can thus easily get to the vines.

The limited, painstaking and strictly traditional production of Scubla Farm, offers a most selected range the grapes and, therefore, high-quality wines.
