Severino Romano Baronial Palace
This post is also available in: Italiano (Italian)
This baronial palace was built by the Severini family, who became the lords of Pisignano around the middle of the 1600s: they built it as their own residence.
The building is now home to an important chess school, the “Accademia Salentina Degli Scacchi” and a national library.
The impressive courtyard has an XVIII century arched balustrade on the entrance side, leading to a secret garden. The well is also a remarkable example of XVIII century architecture.
