Tagliente Farm

Masseria Tagliente (“Masseria” means “a big farm”) is on the hills of the Murge Plateau, in the centre of a 445-acre property owned by the Fumarola family for several generations.
From a botanical point of view, the wood around the farm mainly features Macedonian oaks (Quercus trojana), a species which in Italy grows only in Puglia and Basilicata; then, there’s the typical Mediterranean undergrowth, consisting of mastic trees, strawberry trees, myrtles, rosemary, thorny broom, and rockrose (Cistus).
In spring, many wild orchids and lilies-of-the-field (Sternbergia lutea) bloom spectacularly.
