Valle Buora Oasis is located in the Municipality of Badia Polesine, in the hamlet of Salvaterra, in the Province of Rovigo.

An illegal reclamation attempt was carried out in this 25-acre area in 2003: it was exposed by the WWF Section of Rovigo. Thus, in 2007 the oasis was established to protect the former wetland.
On the occasion of the “Festival of trees” in 2009, several specimens of plants were added for reforestation. That was was necessary to help repopulate the area with animals and plants already disappearing.

Today, the local flora includes Carpinus spp. (hornbeam), Alnus glutinosa (alder), Prunus spinosa (wild blackthorn), Quercus pubescens (downy oak), and Cornus sanguinea (dogwood).

The fauna features several species of birds like great spotted woodpeckers, golden orioles, European turtle doves, great tits, reed warblers, marsh warblers, great reed warblers, Cetti’s warblers, sedge warblers, and zitting cisticolas.

Among the mammals, visitors can observe hedgehogs, water voles, weasels, stone martens and foxes. Amphibians species include Rana esculenta, Rana latastei, Bufo bufo, and Bufo viridis.
