This winery can be found is near Acate, on the hills of the Dirillo Valley, in the province of Ragusa. Those places feature a truly unique naturalistic, artistic and architectural heritage; in fact, there are several masterpieces exhibited in the area, which is also part of the UNESCO World Heritage.

Nature is pristine and uncontaminated, while the rows of vines almost look like embroideries on the slopes of the hills and, over the horizon, the gentle Iblei mountains stand quite magnificently.

In the evocative countryside, there are white dry-stone walls among the fertile cultivated fields gently sloping down towards the coast and the crystal-clear sea.

This winery was established by the Jacono family, true experts of viticulture and wine production since when the city of Vittoria became the most active export facility to France in the XIX century. Today, the company is run by Gaetana Jacono, belonging to the sixth generation of successful winemakers.

In the company’s vineyards, which covers about 245 acres, the ancient vines have been largely renewed with new plants from native and international varieties, in order to guarantee abundant and high-quality production.

The local soil is called “milaro” and offers a peculiar mix of calcareous sandstones and clay: this very feature allows vines to yield high-quality grapes that give wines some pleasant aromatic notes.

The company pays particular attention to the enhancement of the territory by contributing to the dissemination of oenological culture and the adoption of eco-sustainable farming techniques.

Thanks to the pristine nature all around and state-of-the-art farming, Valle dell’Acate offers a remarkable range of high-quality wines.
