Villa Bernasconi, a recently restored Art Nouveau jewel, is open to the public and from November 26th, 2017, features a new and quite peculiar museum.
The villa itself tells its story and takes visitors and guests along an intriguing itinerary about the people who lived there, from 1906 – the year of its construction – until today. State-of-the-art technology enriches this fascinating discovery.
On the mezzanine floor, visitors can fully understand the historical, artistic and cultural context of the early 1900s and the Belle Epoque (when the villa was built), exceptionally rendered by this very building which is also a testament to social, economic, cultural and aesthetic transformations, as well as the intrinsic spirit of modernity.
Upstairs, the villa tells the story of its first owner, Davide Bernasconi, his family, and his famous weaving company (Tessiture Bernasconi). The latter’s innovative role and the impact of Davide’s outstanding entrepreneurial activity have helped to shape the local society and economy.
Villa Bernasconi also regularly hosts events and different initiatives for young and old visitors.
