Villa Comunale di Trani, built in 1823 along with its own gardens, stands near the historic centre of Trani, on a terrace by the sea.

The gardens inside the complex feature both the Italian and English styles, with a regular layout crossed by different, intersecting paths leading to panoramic views of the sea and the coastline

In the areas to the east, south-east, there is a recently restored aviary, a small aquarium (with eight tanks housing several varieties of fish), some ornamental aquatic plants, many flower beds, and small fountains.

Inside the park, there are palm trees, holm oaks (Quercus ilex), and maritime pines (Pinus pinaster) that bless the avenues with their thick foliage, as well as several aromatic herbs from Europe and the Mediterranean Basin (they’re housed in the spice garden right inside the Villa).
