Villa Iachia

This is a historic abode which has belonged to the Iachia family for 200 years.
The 34.5-acre park surrounds it, stretching to some 59 including the external farmland.

The park was designed at the beginning of the XIX century and still retains its original look and structure. The oldest part of it, 22.2-acre wide, features an old draining system, long tree-lined avenues and large clearings.

The park houses rare plants and centuries-old tall trees, including oaks (Quercus spp.), hornbeams (Carpinus spp.), magnolias (Magnolia spp.), linden trees (Tilia spp.), and Lebanon cedars (Cedrus libani). It also includes a bamboo grove and old military fortifications of the First World War.

The remaining 12 acres of the park were built in 2001, restoring the old nursery by repopulating the native flora and fauna; a thick wood was thus created, along with several walkways.
