Villa Pellegrini Cipolla

Villa Pellegrini Cipolla is a splendid XVIII-century mansion on the hills of Lake Garda.
The noble Pellegrini family has been living in Costermano since the XVI century. The engineer Ignazio Pellegrini, the brother of the client Leonardo (a man of arms in the service of Maria Theresa of Austria), started the construction of this villa in 1760.
His creation successfully blends two iconic moments of the so-called “Veronese Enlightenment”: the reorganization of the land and a new, cultural interpretation of the holidays.

The architecture is a union between the palace, the garden and the park with the surrounding natural environment, mimicking some of the most striking features of the Palace of Versailles. It features the towers, the colour of the facade, the straight layout of the garden, the avenue of horse chestnuts, and the elaborated hornbeam hedges.

The main structure stands on two floors with 22 decorated and frescoed rooms. A large marble staircase gives access to the hall of honour decorated with frescoes with large landscapes, mythological and pastoral scenes. All the other rooms and lounges retain Rococo-style tapestries and decorations.

On the sides of the central body, according to the typical style of the Venetian villa, there’s the “Barchessa”: the structure which used to house service and maintenance offices, warehouses, kitchens, peasant abodes, stables, and rustic buildings.

An immense park of over 4.95 acres surrounds the villa, with an Italian garden characterized by hedges, vases and statues, as well as several centuries-old trees. The garden connects the town square to the estate.

Today, Villa Pellegrini Cipolla is often used for receptions, meetings and conferences.
