Villa Sandi Zasso

Villa Sandi Zasso is in Moldoi di Sospirolo (BL), at 1.617 ft above sea level, facing south towards the Piave River Valley and the Belluno Prealps, with Mount Pizzocco and the peaks of Belluno Dolomites National Park in the background – it is truly of the most spectacular XVIII century building around Belluno
Built in the XVIII century by the Venetian Sandi family, it was most likely designed by the architect Domenico Rossi. The villa has a raised southern façade with a pincer staircase. The latter starts in the garden and reaches the main floor where a three-mullioned window pattern is repeated, as well as on the second floor. The lateral bodies have a rectangular shape and on the first floor, they open into four large communicating square rooms.
There are also some ancillary buildings, such as the stables and the servants’ quarters, as well as a small but pretty church dedicated to Saint Biagio and Saint Pellegrino.
The garden includes a southern terraced part which slopes down towards the bottom, with a boxwood parterre and a labyrinth, as well as some grassy areas; to the north, there is a wooded park near the back entrance.
