Villa Vergine Lo Speziale

Villa Vergine, also known as “Lo Speziale”, is an ancient noble abode built in the 1700s and inspired by Palladio’s rotunda. It was once a farmhouse but in the early 1900s, a noble residence was built by Girolamo Vergine, the new owner, on what was left of the stables and the granaries.
The building is a two-storey structure: on the ground floor, there is an ashlar masonry that supports the first floor which features balustrade with the entrances parallel to the facade.
An ancient sundial is still visible on the façade of the villa.
Pietro Porcinai was commissioned to take care of the green area which now appears as a beautiful Italian garden with ancient sculptures made with Lecce stones.
Today, the Villa is a popular venue for ceremonies, private functions and various events
